I am Jacque Kudner and I love to create. I am an instructor this year at Art is You. Please look at my class, to create a beautiful necklace from a vintage neck tie on Monday, October 12 at Art is You Stamford. I have attached photos of students work from previous classes. Last year was my first trip to Art is You. I attended alone because my partner in creating was unable to attend. As I stepped off the elevator at the Sheraton, six women approached me saying “we love your jewelry”. Then each offered me a “trade”. I didn’t really understand the trading tradition. I had brought a few pieces of jewelry to trade, not the lovely charms that everyone hung on the most magnificent name tags that Sallianne and staff make for all attending the event.
Thus, I spent the next two nights in my room creating “trades”. It was my favorite part of Art is You. I was so impressed with the unique charms that women created to trade. Also, very touched by the spirit of Art is You when I said in the beginning “I don’t have a trade” and was answered with “that doesn’t matter, take one of mine”.
I returned home with a name badge necklace loaded with beautiful charms. A great lure for my art group of women to join me this year in Stamford for Art is You.
